EOIN KENNY, son of Ireland manager Stephen, impressed for the national schoolboys team scoring the opener in their 2-1 win over Australia.
he St Mary’s College Dundalk student came on in that Saturday friendly as second-half substitute to open the scoring before Brian Cunningham’s 90th strike sealed victory.
But it was Kenny who showed promise by turning on the style in his attempts to execute a ‘Rabona’ only being denied by the post during the game.
The attacking midfielder also qualifies for Northern Ireland having been born in Derry and earned a call-up to the North’s U-18 squad last summer.
The highly-rated Kenny has featured regularly for Dundalk FC’s U-17 side and has also played with the U-19s team.
