The Arklow Specsavers store will mark World Hearing Day by hosting a fundraising event in aid of Arklow Cancer Support on Friday, March 3.
pecsavers Arklow will be offering discounts on Advance 80 Elite hearing aids throughout the day, with the full fee for any wax removal service on the day of the event being donated directly to Arklow Cancer Support.
There will also be a bake sale and raffle, which will include an array of prizes from local business.
A spokesperson for Specsavers Arklow said: “The team at Specsavers Arklow would like to thank the local businesses who donated to the raffle, including IDFL, Value Mart, Peter Marks, John Swan, Opera Italian, Dunnes Stores and 2 for Joy.
“The event is starting at 9.30am and all new and existing customers are encouraged to attend, please contact the store for tickets. The store will also have a representative from Signia Hearcare demonstrating its new Advance 80 range of hearing aids.”
Rachel Hetherington, audiology director at Specsavers Arklow, added: ’We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause. Being able to give back to our community is really important to our colleagues and we all wanted to support the essential work of Arklow Cancer Support while raising awareness for hearing loss.
“Arklow Cancer Support provides a care service for the people of Arklow and surrounding areas. They are a voluntary organisation and rely solely on fundraising and donations. Some of the services they provide include offering free, practical and emotional support to those who find themselves affected by a cancer diagnosis.”

This is thanks to the generous support of our community and through fundraising events such as that carried out by Specsavers Arklow.”
