Both teams landed in Los Angeles within 15 minutes of each other…forming a unique queue at passport control
Real Madrid and Barcelona are synonymous with public attention, not only because of the historic rivalry between the two clubs, but also because the duels between the two teams usually define the La Liga title race.
Having faced each other in the Champions League, LaLiga, and Super Cups… the two clubs have now faced each other in their ‘first’ game in the air.
The two Spanish giants are currently on tour in North America, and their entry to the USA has produced an interesting moment due to the landing times of both expeditions at LAX (Los Angeles International Airport).
Barcelona left their city on a charter flight at 2:30 p.m. Spanish time, landing on Californian soil at 17:40 (local time) after a 12-hour flight.
Minutes later, the plane that took Real Madrid to the United States landed at the same airport terminal. Its departure from Madrid Barajas-Adolfo Suarez was at 15:00 Spanish time.
It was a coincidence that led to the first air Clasico between the two clubs.
The Blaugrana expedition formed by 32 players and a board of directors, led by president Joan Laporta, went straight to passport control as soon as they landed.
That forced Los Blancos to wait their turn in the executive terminal.
After getting through the American bureaucracy, the Barcelona players boarded their bus to the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel for a huge welcome from Blaugrana fans.
After a short wait, Los Blancos did the same and ended up arriving at their hotel,
The Maybourne, and they too, were greeted by a sea of fans. The two rivals will go head-to-head in a pre-season friendly clash on July 29 in Dallas.
