Paul R. Murphy Sr. of Hyannis, passed peacefully away on April 1, 2023, on his 90th birthday. Loving husband of Leonor Walsh Murphy of Hyannis.

Born in Marblehead, MA, son of the late George and Ellen (Crowley) Murphy. Paul was a graduate of St John’s Prep and the College of the Holy Cross; he also was a Navy veteran. He worked his entire career in the Insurance Industry.

Paul was very active in his community, serving on Council of Aging as Past President, Board Member, and Treasurer as well as volunteering as bookkeeper at Homeless not Helpless, the Barnstable Senior Center, the Executive Service Corps, and was a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. Some of his hobbies and passions included photography, going to the beach, playing golf, and telling terrible yet wonderful “Dad Jokes”.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Ellen Murphy of Manchester, CT, Paul Richard Murphy, Jr. and his wife Martha of Meriden, CT, Brendan Murphy and his wife Patrice of Hingham, Elizabeth Desrosiers and her husband Ron of Acushnet, and Maria; his step children, Mia Walsh of Hyannis, Alison Walsh of Yarmouth, Patrick Walsh and his wife Jackie of Osterville, Jane Walsh of Hyannis, and the late Michael Walsh who passed in 2006, as well as seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 11 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church, 230 South Main Street, Centerville, MA. Burial will follow in St Francis Xavier Cemetery. Live stream will be available: olvparish.org/livestream
