Holmes Murphy & Associates reached an agreement to combine with CSDZ Construction and create a new company called Holmes Murphy Construction, effective Jan. 1.
The new entity will be led by Roger Cornett, current president of CSDZ.
Waukee, Iowa-based Holmes Murphy has 73 of its 1,005 employees in the Kansas City area. Its office at 1828 Walnut St. has been recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of the area’s Best Places to Work at least 10 times. The company is a national insurance brokerage firm.
Holmes Murphy acquired Minneapolis-based Cobb Strecker Dunphy & Zimmermann Inc. (CDSZ) in July 2018 but let it continue to operate as a standalone company. Each company grew over the past four years, creating a need to share resources and merge expertise to serve its construction industry clients.
“Working as one team for our construction specialization is a natural progression,” Cornett said in a release. “Both Holmes Murphy and CSDZ team members have always worked toward one common goal — serving the needs of our clients in the best and most efficient way possible. We feel that by uniting as one team, we can not only lessen the confusion of supporting two brands that clients and the marketplace need to remember, but also streamline the experience we provide for our clients and their needs.”
