If you’re a fan of American English movies, you can’t miss “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” It’s a classic romantic comedy that came out in February 2003 and stars Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey.
In the film, Kate Hudson plays Andie Anderson, a magazine columnist who decides to write an article about how to make a guy break up with you in 10 days. She chooses Matthew McConaughey’s character, Ben Barry, as her unwitting subject. Little does she know that Ben has made a bet with his coworkers that he can make any woman fall in love with him within the same timeframe.

The movie was a huge success, grossing over $177 million at the box office. It also featured talented actors like Annie Parisse, Thomas Lennon, and Bebe Neuwirth.
Kate Hudson, who is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, reflected on the filming experience, saying that it was a different era for making movies. She and Matthew McConaughey spent months together shooting “How to Lose a Guy” and later another film called “Fool’s Gold.” According to Hudson, such long shoots are rare nowadays, except for big-budget blockbusters like Marvel movies.
Hudson even mentioned the possibility of a sequel and shared her thoughts on where their characters might be now. She imagined Andie Anderson as an ambitious woman who had found love and success in her career. She wondered if Andie and Ben would still be together after all these years, possibly married with kids but maybe feeling a bit miserable.
Aside from her on-screen chemistry with McConaughey, Hudson has maintained close relationships with her co-stars. She recently reunited with Kathryn Hahn, who played her best friend in the movie, for another project called “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” in 2022.
Hudson has had an impressive career in romantic comedies, starring in films like “You, Me and Dupree” and “Mother’s Day.” She’s also pursuing her passion for music and plans to release her debut album in 2023.
Matthew McConaughey, known for his breakthrough role in “Dazed and Confused,” became a rom-com favorite after “How to Lose a Guy.” He appeared in movies such as “The Wedding Planner,” “Failure to Launch,” and “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.” McConaughey also had success in more dramatic roles, like “Dallas Buyers Club” and “True Detective.” He’s been happily married to Brazilian model Camila Alves since 2012, and they have three children together.
Kathryn Hahn made her feature film debut in “How to Lose a Guy” and has since appeared in various movies and TV shows. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Agatha Harkness in the Marvel series “WandaVision” and is set to lead a spinoff called “Coven of Chaos.”
Bebe Neuwirth, another talented actress in the film, has a successful theater career, winning two Tony Awards for her performances in “Sweet Charity” and “Chicago.” She has been married twice, first to Paul Dorman from 1984 to 1991 and later to Chris Calkins in 2009.
