The award-winning Cheltenham Paint Festival is back for another year, turning the town into a colourful outdoor gallery of work from world-renowned street artists this July 2023.
Street artists from around the world are gathering for the much-loved Cheltenham Paint Festival, creating large-scale public artworks at sites across town this summer.
Spectators can see the colourful works in progress on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 July 2023, following the free, five-mile arts trail around Cheltenham.
To help them along their way, Cheltenham Paint Festival has created a brand-new audio guide, hosted on the app Guide.AI – with information on past and upcoming murals and the all important details of where to find them.

Headline artists are travelling from far and wide to showcase their talent at the people’s paint festival, including painter and muralist Krimsone from Australia; graffiti artist Bublegum from Barcelona; Boston-based muralist Sophy Tuttle; and Polish stencil artist Tankpetrol, who now lives in Manchester – to name just a few!
It’s a big year for Cheltenham Paint Festival, which was briefly cancelled at the start of the year due to lack of funds, before being saved by a local crowdfunding campaign which saw Gloucestershire’s street art enthusiasts raise over £15,000 to support the event.
Not to mention, it scooped the coveted title of Event of the Year at the 2023 SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards!
