In this film, Kate Hudson plays Andie Anderson, a magazine columnist. She comes up with the idea to write an article called “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” after her friend Michelle Rubin gets dumped. Andie decides to test traditional behaviors that often lead men to end relationships, and she chooses Ben Barry, an advertising executive, as her guinea pig. Coincidentally, Ben makes a bet with his colleagues that he can make any woman fall in love with him within the same 10-day timeframe.

The movie, released in February 2003, was a huge success, earning over $177 million at the box office. It also starred Annie Parisse, Thomas Lennon, and Bebe Neuwirth.

Kate Hudson, who is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and stepfather Kurt Russell, reminisced about the filming experience and described it as a unique time in the movie industry. She and Matthew McConaughey spent four months shooting “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” and later reunited for another romantic comedy, “Fool’s Gold,” which had a six-month shoot. According to Hudson, such long shoots are rare nowadays, except for big franchise movies like Marvel films.

During an interview, Hudson even shared her idea for a potential sequel to “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” She speculated on where Andie and Ben’s characters would be now if they were still together, imagining that they would have gotten married and had kids. She also believed that Andie would have pursued her ambitions and be running something significant.

Hudson has maintained a close bond with many of her co-stars, including Kathryn Hahn. They recently reunited for the movie “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” in 2022. Hudson expressed her admiration for Hahn, calling her a “miracle” and praising her performance in the film.

Kate Hudson, known for her roles in various romantic comedies, went on to star in several successful movies such as “You, Me and Dupree” and “Mother’s Day.” She announced in December 2022 that she is working on her debut album, set to release in 2023. Hudson has had a colorful personal life as well, being previously married to Chris Robinson and engaged to Matt Bellamy before finding love with Danny Fujikawa.

Matthew McConaughey, who gained recognition with his role in “Dazed and Confused,” continued to star in romantic comedies like “The Wedding Planner” and “Failure to Launch” after “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” However, he also showcased his acting skills in critically acclaimed films such as “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Interstellar.” McConaughey has been happily married to Brazilian model Camila Alves since 2012, and they have three children together.

Kathryn Hahn made her feature film debut in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” and has since appeared in various movies like “Step Brothers” and “Bad Moms.” She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Agnes/Agatha Harkness in the Disney+ series “WandaVision.” Hahn is set to lead a TV spinoff called “Coven of Chaos.”

Bebe Neuwirth, who had a successful theater career, won two Tony Awards for her performances in “Sweet Charity” and “Chicago.” She was previously married to Paul Dorman and later tied the knot with Chris Calkins in 2009.
